Bedtime Body Ritual: Prepare the Body and Mind for Rest

Practice this ritual nightly to improve sleep and build a healthy routine. The powerful scent paired with the relaxing motions work to release tension and prepare the body for rest.

For best results perform after the Bedtime Bathing Ritual to help seal in long-lasting moisture.

 Time needed: 10 minutes

Frequency: Nightly

Recommended products: Sleep Body Oil, Deep Sleep Body Balm or Comfort Body Oil

Apply a pea sized amount to the palms, rub together to soften the balm or warm the oil, then cup hands and hover in front of the nose. Take a moment to inhale deeply three times.

Start at legs, sweep up over feet, ankles – using your index finger press acupressure point 1 for five seconds. Move up the calves, to the knees then upwards over the thighs and follow the curve of hips, waist and buttocks.

Move to the hands, applying pressure at points 2 & 3 and sweep along the arms and around shoulders.

Cup the hands on the stomach and focus on breathing, circle around the stomach in a clockwise direction.

Apply to the chest, place your hand on your heart, mid chest – the centre for unconditional love. When you touch it, love will be activated and send out endorphins which will soothe and calm you.

Glide fingers to the center of the chest. Press index finger and hold for 5 seconds.

Move to the back of the neck, press using index fingers on both points (5) and hold for five seconds.

Glide to the point behind the ear, directly between the earlobe and the hairline that comes up the back of the neck (6). Apply pressure with index fingers on both sides. Hold for 5 seconds.

Hold hands just below rib change and inhale quietly through your nose to a mental count of 4. Hold your breath for a count of 7. Exhale completely through your mouth, making a whoosh sound to a count of 8. This is one breath, repeat by 5. This breathwork will move your body into a state of relaxation and lull it to sleep.
